I grew up as a multi-sport athlete with a background in basketball, volleyball, track & field, horseback riding, boxing, and MMA.
My competitive career eventually led me to specialize in the javelin throw.
I became a California Community College State Javelin Champion before continuing my career at Long Beach State, where I became a Big West Conference Javelin Champion, two-time All-Big West athlete, and two-time Most Valuable Athlete.
My personal best of 170'11" established a Long Beach State school record and Big West Conference record at the time.
My javelin career ultimately gave me the opportunity to compete on one of the biggest stages in American track & field—the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
Competing at the Olympic Trials represented years of training, sacrifice, discipline, and commitment, and those lessons continue to influence the way I approach both training and coaching today.
In 2022, I was honored to be inducted into the Ventura College Sports Hall of Fame for my accomplishments in basketball and track & field.
Experience That Shapes My Coaching:
Every sport has taught me something different.
Track & field taught me power, technique, precision, and patience.
Basketball and volleyball developed teamwork, explosiveness, competitiveness, and athletic movement.
Boxing and MMA strengthened my appreciation for conditioning, discipline, mental toughness, and perseverance.
Horseback riding developed balance, coordination, body awareness, control, patience, and confidence.
And strength training has remained a foundation throughout my athletic journey.
I bring lessons from all of these experiences into the way I coach my clients and athletes.
From Athlete to Coach
Today, I bring my athletic experience into my work as a certified personal trainer and track & field throws coach.
My approach combines intelligent strength training, proper technique, progressive programming, accountability, and the mindset necessary to create lasting change.
And you don't have to be a competitive athlete to train with me.
Whether your goal is to build muscle, become stronger, improve your body composition, increase athletic performance, improve your overall fitness, or simply become more confident in the gym, your training will be built around you.
I'll meet you at your current level and help you progress from there.
One of the areas I’m especially passionate about is working with women who are postpartum or navigating motherhood. As a mom myself, I understand the physical and emotional demands that come with pregnancy, recovery, and raising children. My coaching takes those realities into account, focusing on safe, progressive strength training that helps rebuild confidence, restore core strength, and support long-term health—while fitting into the busy, unpredictable schedule of motherhood.
